a white tent, lattice, and zip ties can only mean one thing…

…It’s Art Fair Season!

One down, and 3 or 4 to go. I’m waiting to here back on the Millstream Festival, which will be held on September 29th. I’ll keep you posted about that one.

Last weekend was the “opener” for the art fairs I decided to participate in this year. The Celebration of the Arts art fair was in Avon, Minnesota during this little town’s Spunktacular Days celebration. (As for the name, there are three lakes in town called Upper Spunk, Middle Spunk, and Lower Spunk…and the Spunk Creek runs through all of them. No wise cracks about the name. 🙂 )

It was a beautiful day. The weather is always a risk. I have 20 pounds of weights on each tent leg to help with wind, but I can’t control the heat or rain. I try, though.

Lemonade Art Fair

My next art fair is the Lemonade Art Fair, from 11-9pm. Lemonade is a wonderful art fair with lots and lots of vendors held on St. Cloud State University’s campus in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This art fair is next week, Thursday, June 27th, 2013. My booth is located on the fringe. I’m guessing they give preference to repeat artists, and that’s ok. Someone has to be on the fringe. My booth is just over a block east of 5th Avenue and 7th Street on the north side of the Administrative Services Building—booth number 253.

I’m making a sign (see below) to make it a little easier to spot me amongst the sea of white tents. It will be in a frame hanging from the front right (or left?) side of the tent. It’s not much bigger than what you see in the top photograph. Hopefully the bright pinkish red will catch your attention.

What do you think of my tagline? “…life…captured…beautifully”. I thought of that while I was driving home the other night and quick wrote it down while I was at a stop light. You know how ideas pop into your head and then POOF they’re gone just as fast?

Other Art Fairs

The list of the other art fairs are here. That list will be updated as events are confirmed or added. I post reminders on Facebook. Click on over and “Like” me if you haven’t already. Why? Because sometimes I post sales on Facebook. Or you might see a coupon. Or just because I post cool stuff. You’ll have to Like me and see!

Upcoming Blog Posts

I’ve got a list of blog posts in the works, with this list in no particular order. (It really just depends on when I get these written. Some require less time than others.)

  • Patty’s Family Photography Session
  • Little Miss Elena
  • Tenba photography bag review
  • Stories to Tell – Holland and Germany Part 4

I am hoping to get a few of those written and “in the can” prior to this post going live. I’ve assigned Wednesdays as my social media/networking day. Let’s just say I had a few interruptions.

ps–The title of this post? I use zip ties to attach the white lattice to the tent, which I then use curtain hooks to hang the artwork.

Ok, see you next time!

ciao!

  1. Your tent looks beautiful! May you sell enough photos to buy the lens of your dreams this season. 🙂

The tent presentation looked very nice, sorry I missed it. I think your tag line..’life captured beautifully’ expresses the depth of your photography. The really pink sign should draw something to your tent; very eye catching and alive looking. Good luck.

  3. Glad you didn’t get spunked, err…I mean skunked! 🙂 And I love the wording for your sign, of course I’m all about the …’s!
