New Baby in the House!

Oh Yah, the Baby has Arrived…

So you know how you get points on credit cards that you can redeem to buy something? (I can almost hear some of you thinking “you can redeem points for a baby?”)

Well, I’ve had my eyes on this baby for awhile now. The Lensbaby Edge 80 Optic. It was delivered today, and these are the first shots with only medium contrast and a few exposure compensations. In other words, minimal processing. I took a few photographs inside, around the house, and across the street. Most in the aperture range of 2.8 to 8.

This is going to be fun to photograph with! I’ll get a more detailed review blogged for my photographer followers after I’ve had a chance to do more serious photography with it. Everyone else can just enjoy the photographs! 🙂

You can see the angle the optic was at just by following the infocus area.

You can see the almost horizontal angle the optic was at just by following the infocus area across the carpet and his eyes.

It can be used as a standard portrait lens, too. (Yah, I see the dead leaves I need to pull out.)

Another example of how you can have that slice of focus. Just a quick grab of the back yard from kitchen window.

Another example of the slice of focus, going vertically through the tire.

This is a ways from being mastered, but can you see how that slice of focus can be interesting? The grass is nothing special, but you get the idea. This time going diagonally.

I think my lens fogged up. Super humid outside and this was right after coming inside.

ciao!
